Biography:
Having grown up in New Jersey USA, I graduated from Rutgers University and then earned my PhD in Biological Oceanography at the Scripps Institution of Oceanography of the University of California, San Diego. I was awarded a postgraduate fellowship from the Alexander von Humboldt Stiftung to study with Prof.Dr. Klaus Schmidt-Koenig in Goettingen and Tuebingen in 1975 and 1976. I was then hired as a Marine Biology lecturer/researcher at the James Cook University of North Queenland, Townsville Australia where I remained for 20 years. Since my retirement I have renewed a long interest in the genealogy of my family, which includes branches in Australia-England, Norway and Germany. The German ancestry includes that of J F Windhorst,born in Hannover in 1874, and F Walter, born in Wurttemberg in 1844.
